Infinite Erie Supports New Federal Funding of $6.6 Million to Advance Key Projects in Erie County
Newly announced funding will advance projects within the Infinite Erie Playbook.

ERIE, PA (Feb. 11, 2026) — Infinite Erie celebrated the recent passage of federal funding appropriations that advance several priority projects identified in the Infinite Erie Playbook, marking a significant step forward for economic development, housing, and workforce initiatives across Erie County.
“These investments represent real momentum for Erie,” said Kim Thomas, Executive Director of Infinite Erie. “This funding moves critical redevelopment, infrastructure, and workforce projects from vision to reality—creating measurable progress that benefits everyone in our community.
“At Infinite Erie, we strengthen Erie’s economic and community development system by identifying, cultivating, and prioritizing the projects that matter most. By coordinating public, private, and civic partners, we turn shared priorities into tangible results that drive growth and opportunity. We are grateful to U.S. Sen. Fetterman, U.S Sen. McCormick and Congressman Mike Kelly for championing these initiatives and helping secure resources that will keep Erie moving forward.”
The projects benefiting Erie County are:
- Erie Port Authority – Erie Coke Demolition: $2 million
Supported by Sen. Fetterman and Congressman Kelly, this funding will support asbestos abatement and demolition of remaining structures at the former Erie Coke site, advancing long-term waterfront redevelopment. - Erie County – McKean Business Park: $3 million
- Supported by Congressman Kelly, this funding is expected to support infrastructure improvements at the McKean Business Park, enhancing the site’s readiness for future industrial and commercial development.
- Erie County Land Bank – Cornerstone Community Land Trust: $1.1 million
Supported by Sen. Fetterman, this investment will support the creation of new affordable housing units in Erie County, addressing critical housing needs and supporting neighborhood stability. - Gannon University – Biomedical Laboratories: $500,000
Supported by U.S Senator McCormick, this funding will support upgrades to biomedical laboratory facilities, strengthening workforce development and educational opportunities in healthcare and life sciences.
